Ma on the bus.  Ma, Elton and I went to Penn-Dutch
for the day.
The food is great but the beauty of the farms is
more enjoyable! Here we are in front of a buggie.
Outside Eli's Road Stand.

Left - One of the
farms we visited.
The OId Order

Amish are great
farmers.  They are
also  good at other
things, like
carpentry.
On this farm there
was a gift shop
selling beautiful
home made quilts,
jams/jellies and
furniture.  Here
the children are
playing with a goat.

During our one day

tour, we stop to
have lunch at
Good 'N Plenty.
The name speaks
for itself.

A typical farm.
This was taken from
a calendar. Mostly
seen growing are
corn and alfalfa,
and some tobacco.

During our one day

tour, we visit towns
with names like
Bird-In-Hand,
Intercourse, and
Paradise.

We visit farms, stop
at a farmers' market,

and Kitchen Kettle.

Here we are seated by the ice cream store in Kitchen Kettle.  Kitchen Kettle is a mall (tourist trap?).

Trip to Lancaster, PA, May 29, 2006 - Page O

October 28, 2006
Left, Elton while visiting one of the farms.  Right, the farm that can be seen from Kitchen Kettle's parking lot.
Below, pumpkins, etc.,  being sold at Eli's Road Stand.

The Countryside Road Stand, also called Eli's Road Stand.  At left is what it looked like before.  It was a small
shack loaded with lots of local goods.  At right is the new stand.  The local guide calls the new stand the "Amish
Wal-Mart".  It appears the Amish are making money from the tourists that visit!  Supposedly, the goods sold
here are made by the members of the community.  The stand is located at 2966 Stumptown Road, Ronks, PA.
These are photos from brochures picked up at the Stand.  Eli's farm and home are next to the stand.
Before getting back on the bus to head home.
From an old calendar I had.
Have no idea who took photo.
