These are photos taken on a one day tour to the Thimble Islands in Stony Creek, Connecticut on August 18, 2007. These islands are made up of hundreds of rock formations. Some islands have vegetation while others do not. The islands are in the Island Sound off the shore of Stony Creek. The islands range in size from less than a half acre to about 12 acres. Each island has a name. The homes on the islands are mostly used as summer homes. Not all islands have homes. |
