On 4/22, I headed to JFK via the Air Train to fly to St. Croix via San Juan. I decided to celebrate my 62nd birthday on the island where I was born. Due to the furlough of traffic controllers, the 11:58 p.m. Jet Blue flight did not leave until 1 a.m. on 04/23. I arrived in San Juan after 4 a.m. and at 7:35 a.m. I left on a Seaborne Airlines flight. (A great airline. Planes looked new! American Eagle stopped flying to St. Croix, and other islands, on 03/31/13.) I arrived on St. Croix at 8:05 a.m. on 4/23 and left at 5:30 p.m. on the same day! I spent the day with my sister, Gloria. We had a great time! I was back in New York City after midnight on 4/24. The JetBlue flight from SJU to JFK was also delayed! Below are the few photos I took. |
The following photos were taken from the viewing area on the Christiansted Bypass. |

Gloria met me at the airport. From the airport, we went to visit Ma's grave and then went on a tour of the island. The photos above are of the island tour. We had lunch at Maria's Cantina (Mexican cuisine) in Gallows Bay. Before going to the airport for me return flight, we visited Ma's grave again! |
