St Croix - Page 29

These photos were taken during my short visit to St. Croix, June 20 to June 23, 2010.

When Ma was well, she took care of all the plants and flowers around her apartment.  She took care of them with
love.  Some plants came with a story since they were given to her by a sister, relative or friend.  Ma would let
me know who gave her the plant or how she acquired it.  She enjoyed telling the story behind
each plant.  After she got
ill, I tried to maintain the plants the best I could each time I visited.  Ma passed on her love of plants to all her children,
including me.  Ma always said that a house without plants was an empty house.  To me she was as beautiful as the
flowers on the plants she so much cherished.  Now Ma is a beautiful flower in a world without pain and suffering!

At 11:00 p.m. on July 15, 2010, I flew down to St. Croix via San Juan in order to be there for what would have
been Ma's 88th Birthday. I spent from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on St. Croix on July 16th.  It was a very productive
and rewarding day.  Nilsa and Glory made it all happen!  I would not have been able to do it without them!
