Trips Taken December 2010 - Page FFF

On December 14th, Elton and I went to Massachusetts with L&M Tours.  Our first stop was the Hu Ke Lau
restaurant in
Chicopee.  There we enjoyed a Christmas show.  After the show, we visited a mall to do some
shopping while we waited for it to get dark.  At 5 p.m., we headed to
Springfield for the Bright Nights show.
We drove through Forest Park in the bus to see the many decorations that they had on display.
The Christmas lights display was very beautiful!
(Update:  June 21, 2020 - Hu Ke Lau was demolished in
2018.  No idea what is coming in its place.)

This was the first time taking photographs of Christmas lights in a moving bus.  I have to learn how to
use the Manual mode of my camera.  It appears I may also need a tripod or steadier hands!  Though the
photos below did not capture the actual display, I am still showing them because I think they are colorful.

On December 18, I took a trip to Penn-Dutch, a place my Mother liked very much.  My mother liked the farms and the
peace and tranquility of the area.  I took this tour with L&M and went alone.  On this tour, we visited the
National
Christmas Center, Eli's, and Bird-In-Hand Bakery.  We ate in an Amish home family style (table with benches or
chairs) holding at least 10 people.  Our last stop was
Kitchen Kettle.

On December 25th, Maria, Elton and I visited Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania.  You can see
other photos of Longwood by going to
Page YY, a trip taken in April 2010. This trip, as all others,
was with L & M Tours.  The day was cold and cloudy but very enjoyable.  As we were getting to
the Gardens, it began to snow!   There was a sing-along in the Ballroom with the organist.  That was
a lot of fun!!  When it began to get dark, the lights all over the Garden were turned on.
There was a fountain show also.
