Have a Happy and Healthy 2018!! |
The lack of varied photographs is due to the fact that I have been very involved with various political groups in New York City. We are trying to get housing laws passed/repealed in Albany. The landlords are getting away with too much [Preferential Rent (State Senate Bill S. 6527), Vacancy Decontrol (S. 3482), Vacancy Bonus (S. 1593), and Major Capital Improvement (S. 4312)]. Affordable apartments in New York City are becoming fewer and fewer. More and more people are ending up homeless. The meetings I attend are often. I am usually too exhausted the next day to take photos of interest in the City. Furthermore, I have not taken any day trips in November and December. Hopefully, I will do better in January. In the meantime, I hope you enjoyed the different sunrises and sunsets, and other photos I have posted on this page! August 2, 2020 - It should be noted that all the rallies, marches, meetings, etc. paid off for the most part. In 2019 new rent laws were passed that favored tenants more. Naturally, landlords and some in the real estate industry opposed the changes. Most landlords claim the laws will lead to no repairs in the buildings, etc. As noted above on a photo, there were no holiday decorations in 2019/2020 winter season in LeFrak City. Did they do it to prove a point? Also, there was no annual Holiday party for the residents. |
December 19th and 20th - Sunrise, Oculus, area around Reflecting Pools and Liberty Park. |

December 31st - The moon. Today's moon is in a Waxing Gibbous phase. This phase is when the moon is more than 50% illuminated but not yet a Full Moon. The phase lasts round 7 days with the moon becoming more illuminated each day until the Full Moon. |

| August 2, 2020 - In the winter of 2019-2020 there were NO decorations throughout the complex except for a few poinsettias in the lobby. Rumor? It was said management found decorations too expensive. Could be due, however, to the rent laws passed NOT favoring the landlords. |
